コンポーザー、プレイヤー、録音・音響エンジニアなど多様な顔を持つサウンドアーティスト、Ayumi Nakamuraによるソロプロジェクト。
洗練されたフォークを軸に、インディー、オルタナティブ、アンビエント、エレクトロニカの要素を精緻に織り込んだサウンドを特徴とする。素朴ながらも鋭い視点を持つ歌詞とダイナミックな楽曲展開は、リスナーを独自の深遠な音世界へと誘う。
近年は、サラウンド音響を用いたライブ表現や映像音楽の制作に加え、アートプロジェクトへの参画など、音楽の枠を超えた芸術性の高いアプローチを精力的に展開。また、アジア圏を中心とした海外公演も積極的に行い、活動の場をグローバルに広げている。プロデューサーとして他アーティストの制作を支える傍ら、ライブセッションプロジェクト「REIMEI SESSION」を共同主催。
かつてはThe Chimney Sweeper、POINT HOPEのメンバーとして活動。
Walm is the solo project of Ayumi Nakamura, a versatile sound artist who works across multiple disciplines as a composer, performer, recording engineer, and audio engineer.Steeped in sophisticated folk, his music meticulously integrates elements of indie, alternative, ambient, and electronica. With simple yet piercing lyrics and dynamic arrangements, his intricate soundscapes invite listeners to fully immerse themselves in an evocative, deep sonic world.
In recent years, Walm has actively pushed artistic boundaries, engaging in collaborative art projects, producing film scores, and exploring spatial immersive live performances using surround-sound systems. Expanding his footprint globally, he has also been actively touring internationally, with a particular focus on the Asian indie scene. Alongside his solo work, he produces for various artists and co-founded the live session project “REIMEI SESSION.” He was formerly a member of the bands The Chimney Sweeper and POINT HOPE.
来歴
2014：[The Chimney Sweeper] FLAKE RECORDSよりAlbum『The Vowel』をリリースしデビュー。
2015：[The Chimney Sweeper] 7インチレコード『Comedy Room / Via Saigon』をリリース。
2016：[The Chimney Sweeper] USのバンドWhitneyの『No Matter Where We Go』のクリスマスアレンジカバーを発表。Whitney本人やTwin PeaksがSNSで反応するなど各所で大きな話題を呼ぶ。
2017：[POINT HOPE] EP『HOUI』をリリース。
2018：[POINT HOPE] ROTH BART BRON、Maika Loubté、揺らぎなど8組を招き、大規模自主企画“十年”を開催。
2022：[Walm] コロナ禍を機に活動形態を移行し、音響的なアプローチを取り入れた本格的なソロ活動を始動。1st Album『Strata』をリリース。
2024：[Walm] 2nd Album『Drive Through』をリリース。マレーシアおよびシンガポールを巡るツアーを開催。
2025：[Walm] アートイベント「Synchronicity」にて、観客を取り囲む空間的なステージ配置によるサラウンドライブを実施。音楽ライブにおける空間表現の拡張を試みる。
2026：[Walm] 3rd Album『Cabin』をリリース。タイ、台湾、日本を巡るアジアリリースツアーを開催。ツアーファイナルでは、ストリングスセクションとサラウンドスピーカーを駆使し、独自の音空間を作り上げたワンマン公演を成功させる。国内外のアートプロジェクトや音響演出を伴うパフォーマンスへの参加など、独自の芸術的アプローチを深化させ続けている。

2014: [The Chimney Sweeper] Made their debut with the release of the album The Vowel via FLAKE RECORDS.
2015: [The Chimney Sweeper] Released the 7-inch vinyl record Comedy Room / Via Saigon.
2016: [The Chimney Sweeper] Released a Christmas arrangement cover of “No Matter Where We Go” by the US band Whitney, gaining international attention and drawing praise on social media from Whitney themselves as well as Twin Peaks.
2017: [POINT HOPE] Released the EP HOUI.
2018: [POINT HOPE] Hosted the large-scale independent showcase “JUNEN,” inviting eight prominent acts including ROTH BART BRON, Maika Loubté, and Yuragi.
2022: [Walm] Shifted his musical direction amidst the pandemic to launch his full-scale, sonic-focused solo project, releasing the 1st album Strata.
2024: [Walm] Released the 2nd album Drive Through, followed by a promotional tour across Malaysia and Singapore.
2025: [Walm] Performed a surround-sound live set at the art festival “Synchronicity,” utilizing a spatial stage configuration that enveloped the audience, experimenting with the expansion of spatial expression in live music.
2026: [Walm] Released the 3rd album Cabin and embarked on an official release tour across Thailand, Taiwan, and Japan. The tour finale was a highly successful headline show that blended a live strings section with multi-channel surround speakers to create a singular acoustic environment. He continues to deepen his unique artistic approach through international performances and collaborations with diverse art projects.
